Get a pass
The nature reserve is a protected area. You must have a pass to get into the nature reserve.

The pass for one tourist costs 150 rubles. Crimea residents and citizens entitled to benefits can get a free pass.

The routes of the nature reserve open to visitors on April 1, 2021.

Transportation
The nature reserve is located in the northern part of the Kerch Peninsula.

It is situated 50 km (31 mi) away from Kerch, 22 km (14 mi) away from route E97 Kerch — Simferopol and 2 km (1,2 mi) away from Schyolkino.

You can get to the nature reserve by bus or minibus from "Sem Kolodtsev" station (Lenino village) to Mysovoe village.

In the nature reserve you can see not only the ruins of ancient buildings dating back to the 2nd-1st centuries BC, but also fragments of ancient Green ceramics and moulded ceramics.

Water area of the nature reserve
The water area of the reserve is of international importance and is protected under the Ramsar Convention.

Unique seaweed and herbs grow in the water area. It is an important area for waterbirds, spawn and growing period of many fish species, i.e. rare and endangered.

In the reserve there are 617 plant and 1261 animal species, many of them are in the Red Data Books of Russia and Crimea.
Dark Planet
In 2007 Kazantyp became one of the filming locations for the much talked about film Dark Planet directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk. The film was adapted from the novel Prisoners of Power by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky.

The legend says that on the peninsula there is a secret cave above the sea level.

The underground passage stretches for 17 kilometers to the Chegene Cape (Turkic: Golden Cape) where the gold robbed by pirates is hidden.
