Little precipitation, a long dry summer, soluble rocks and a variety of landforms cause lack of surface water and its uneven distribution over the nature reserve.

Uchan-su Waterfall
Uchan-su Waterfall is a natural monument and the most famous and the highest waterfall of Crimea.
Facts about Uchan-su Waterfall:
- water falls from about 100 m;
- the sound of water can be heard from 1−2 km away;
- in summer the waterfall dries up and divides into three tiny streams.
